I recently visited the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, WI and was amazed by the incredible artwork and sculptures on display.

The  museum  is  dedicated  to showcasing  the work of regional, national, and international artists; it is truly a sight to behold.

Additionally, it  has  something  for everyone, from traditional landscapes to modern sculptures.
Furthermore the museum  contains an amazing selection of bird art, which is a specialty of the museum, the sculptures range from realistic to abstract, and each one is unique and captivating; it also has a variety of interactive displays that allow visitors to interact with the artwork up close and personal.

I was especially impressed by the museum's commitment to educational programs and to promoting the arts. It has a wide range of programs for both adults and children, and  it  is  an  excellent way to introduce children to the world of art.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Granite Peak in Wausau, WI.

This ski and snowboard area is known for its expansive terrain, expansive views and challenging terrain.

The mountain immediately impressed me when I arrived; the terrain was vast, and the difficulty of the slopes varied, so there was something for everyone.

The views from the top of the mountain were spectacular.  I could see the entire city of Wausau and the surrounding area from the top.

The snow was perfect, and the scenery was stunning; the ski runs were well-kept and groomed, which made them both safe and enjoyable.

Skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, had plenty of options.

I was especially impressed by the terrain park, which was filled with jumps, rails, and other obstacles.

The staff at Granite Peak were friendly and helpful; they took the time to explain the various runs and terrain to me, so I could make the most of my time there.

Granite Peak was an incredible experience in general. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable ski and snowboard experience.  

The  terrain  was diversified and impressive, and the views were breathtaking, and the staff were friendly and accommodating ;  I'm already excited for my next visit!

5. Monk Botanical Gardens

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Monk Botanical Gardens in Wausau, WI.

As a nature and garden enthusiast, I was excited to see the gardens for myself.

The Monk Botanical Gardens are five acres of cultivated gardens with both formal and informal areas.

The formal gardens, with their winding pathways, meticulously laid out flowerbeds, and sculptures, were where I began my exploration;  I spent some time in the formal gardens, admiring the various plant and flower varieties. The gardens provided an incredible sense of peace and beauty.

Then, I ventured into the informal gardens.

Here, I was delighted by the natural, rustic setting and the abundance of wildlife; the gardens' winding  pathways  allowed  me to explore the many trails, and I was able to observe a wide variety of birds, butterflies, and other creatures.

I also spotted an assortment of native wildflowers and plants.

Willow Springs Garden in Wausau, WI is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited;  the garden is situated  on the Wisconsin  River's banks  and is surrounded by lush green trees and blooming flowers. It's a great place for a relaxing stroll or a picnic.

7. Woodson History Center

I  was blown away by what I saw in the Woodson History Center;  It commemorates the history of the Wausau area, from its earliest Native American inhabitants to the present.

They also have a variety of exhibits  that  are both educational and entertaining , and interactive learning  opportunities for  children as well.

The main exhibit is a permanent display that spans the Wausau area's history from the 1800s to the present.  

It contains period artefacts and photographs, as well as detailed displays about the people and events that shaped  the area. Hence, it was quite  interesting  and  informative. Also, I learned a lot about the area's history.

Throughout the year, the centre also hosts a variety of special programs and events, such as living history reenactments, lectures, and workshops;  

I attended a very interesting  and  informative lecture on the history of Wisconsin's logging industry, and I also participated in a hands-on  activity  that involved building a log cabin model.

Overall, I had a fantastic time at the Woodson History Center; it was  an excellent way to learn about the history of the Wausau area. I highly  recommend  paying it a visit if you're ever in the area.

I recently visited the Isle of Ferns Park in Wausau, WI and was amazed at the beauty of this hidden gem.

The park is nestled in the woods, and when you step foot into it, you can instantly feel the peace and serenity of the surrounding nature.

More so, the park has a variety of trails that are great for walking and biking.

I chose to take the main trail  that  leads  you  through  the  forest  around  a  scenic  pond,  and past a few smaller trails;   as I walked, I encountered several deer, wild turkeys,  and  other  wildlife.

In addition, the park is a fantastic place to observe birds, too. I was able to spot several species of birds, including the common loon, great  blue  heron, and  red-shouldered hawk; I stood for a few moments to take in the beauty of their graceful  flight.

The park is a wonderful place for families to spend time together because it contains many picnic tables and a small playground. I discovered the park to be a great haven from the bustle of daily life.
